Two wheels - fast.

Tomity!

Yes.  We are open.

Keirin coursing through the veins

Before I left for Japan, I had a brief chat with Gary Neiwand on the blower about tyre kickers, and I mentioned I was going to Japan.

Gary is no stranger to Japan, or Keirin, having won the International Keirin Series 3 times, had a 3Rensho made by the late Yoshi Konno made for him to use, and is arguably the most succesful Gaijin racer in Keirin ranks.

'You've got to meet my mate, Tomity!' said Gary.

Turns out Tomity already knew of this space in the ether - famed for the 'girls on bikes' photos and photos of beautiful track bikes.

Pretty Boy and I had the pleasure of Tomity being our tour guide around Tokyo, taking us to all the bicycle hot spots, sashimi joints, and filling us in on his lengthy career as a Keirin Professional.

Tomity is in his 50's, still baby faced, and still racing.  Bloody amazing feat.

There isn't a person more passionate, knowledgable or generous when it comes to Keirin.

Tomity strictly rides Kalavinka.  Always has, always will, and in coming posts you'll see the great Tanabesan brazing up in his workshop.

Tomity - thank you for making the trip extra special!

Tomity also wanted me to take some photos of Japanese girls with my bike - so I did.

HARAJUKU.

Somethings are uniquely Japanese.  Harajuku girls fit that category.

Here's some of the crazier ones I bumped into.

How nice is that bike!

Michael Rogers' old Euro, Columbus SLX NEW, Campagnolo Record, Mavic, Nitto NJS, Rolls, and Hello Kitty for safety.

Damn you got some wicked style- and damn this song is a bugger to get out of your head.
