Waiting for the phone to ring.

Key to a successful career in courieringering is patience. Call it killing time if you will, but often for long chunks of the day a courier will be perched somewhere in the city - and always where the coffee is good and the service hospitable.

My favourite spot in Melburn is Liaison - which has just turned 2 today.

The grind of coffee, cakes, hot russian mustard and salami sandwiches (toasted!), rice salad, location, and staff are the blend that keeps me coming back.

For those who swoon for a macaroon, macaron, or even macawrongs - go there tomorrow.
