Not that long ago

Back in 2006 I 'printed out' a flyer for a bike ride called Melburn Roobaix. I stuck it up will blu-tak on the walls of any cafe and bike shop that would let me and of course, I pasted it here.

Word spread, and the night before the ride, some bloke from a radio station I'd never heard of wanted to interview me about the ride. I can remember standing outside gazing at the stars as they asked me questions about the ride, and the last question they asked was how many people would turn up. I replied with 50? Maybe 100 if we are lucky.

Fast foward to 2012 and this is what I received yesterday.

INBOX

Hello:

Do you allow Yanks in the Melburn Roobaix?? I have been diagnosed with 3rd stage fyxomatosis. My doctor has indicated a trip to Melbourne Austrailia as a possible cure, but not yet FDA Approved. (US Food and Drug Administration for those who don't know).

Please respond with your medical insurance information as soon as possible.

Cheers, RH

My sources tell me many grupetto's are forming in South Australia, New South Wales, Brisbane and country Victoria as well as the On Fire regulars from New Zealand with grand plans for the pave. It never ceases to amaze me how far ya'll come to share the experience.

How do I register?

Registration will become available in April and if you want to be first in line, make sure you are subscribed to our mailing list, or follow FYXO on twitter to be notified of the how and when.
